Know the enemy
Country rodents, city problems
Rodent pressure in the Northern Rivers comes from everywhere: rural land and cane country carry big populations that push into towns when harvest, floods or cold snaps move them along, while roof rats run the powerlines and fig trees of every beachside street. When they find a way into a roof void, the damage starts — gnawed wiring, fouled insulation and contaminated kitchens.
Bunnings baits rarely end it, because the supply of replacement rodents outside is endless. What works is the combination: secured baiting on the runways they're using, plus proofing that closes the entries — so clearing your roof once means it stays cleared.
Did you know?
Roof rats are superb climbers — powerlines, vines and overhanging branches are their highways into your roof. In a region this green, trimming the access is half the battle, and we'll show you exactly where yours is.

How we clear and keep them out
Population down, doors closed — in that order.

Find the runways and entries
Roof lines, vegetation access, vents, sheds and subfloors — we map how they're getting in and where they're living before placing anything.
Secured, tamper-resistant baiting
Locked stations on the actual runways, positioned away from kids, pets, wildlife and farm animals — a serious consideration on the region's rural properties.
Proofing the property
Gaps sealed, access branches flagged, shed and coop advice included — because in this region the next rodent is always nearby, and proofing is what makes the result permanent.
Follow-through
Established infestations get monitored and rebaited until activity genuinely stops — and we'll tell you honestly when it has.

Frequently asked questions
We're on acreage — can you handle rural rodent problems?
Yes — sheds, barns, feed storage and machinery spaces are standard work for us up here, with baiting strategies that account for chooks, dogs, horses and wildlife. Tell us about the property when you book.
Something's in the roof — rats or a possum?
Light, fast scratching through the night points to rats; slow heavy thumps at dusk say possum. The fixes are completely different (possums are protected), so we confirm with an inspection before treating anything.
Are the baits safe for pets and local wildlife?
We use locked, tamper-resistant stations placed out of reach, and we'll walk you through every placement. If you'd rather avoid baits entirely — some rural and wildlife-conscious customers do — trapping-led approaches are available.
Why do they come back every year around the same time?
Seasonal movement — harvest, floods and cooler nights push outdoor populations toward warm buildings on a schedule. Proofing the entries is what breaks your home out of that annual cycle.
