Know the enemy
The pest you don't see is the one that costs the most
Termites — white ants, as most of us call them — eat timber from the inside out. By the time you spot a mud tube, a sagging floor or a door frame that sounds hollow when you tap it, a colony may have been feeding inside your walls for years. And termite damage typically isn't covered by home insurance.
Sydney's climate keeps termites active year-round, and established suburbs with mature trees and older timber homes are exactly where they thrive. The fix isn't panic — it's a regular, thorough inspection by someone who knows precisely where to look.
Did you know?
Termites never sleep. A colony feeds 24 hours a day, 7 days a week — which is why damage can go from invisible to serious between annual inspections.

What a Pesthelp termite inspection covers
This isn't a walk-through with a torch. We inspect every accessible part of the property, inside and out.

Full property inspection
Interior walls and skirtings, roof void, subfloor, garden timbers, fences, retaining walls and trees — every place termites live, travel or feed.
Detection technology
Thermal imaging, moisture meters and termite detection equipment let us find activity inside walls without ripping them open.
A written report with clear advice
You get a plain-English report of what we found, photos of any problem areas, and straightforward recommendations — whether that's "all clear, see you next year" or a treatment plan with a fixed price.
Neighbouring risk assessment
Termite colonies don't respect fence lines. If we find activity, we'll tell you honestly whether neighbouring structures raise your risk and what to do about it.
Fixed price. Free quote. Fast response.
Straight answers from a family business — no call centre, no pressure.

Frequently asked questions
How often should I get a termite inspection?
At least once a year for most Sydney properties — that's the standard recommendation for Australian homes. Properties with previous termite activity, lots of garden timber or a history of termites in the street should inspect more often.
What happens if you find termites?
Don't disturb them — spraying or breaking open workings scatters the colony and makes treatment harder. We'll show you what we found, explain the options, and quote a fixed price for treatment. You decide from there; the inspection never locks you into anything.
How long does an inspection take?
Usually one to two hours depending on the size of the property and access to the roof void and subfloor. You'll have the written report shortly after.
I'm buying a property — is this the same as a pre-purchase inspection?
The inspection work is similar, but a pre-purchase timber pest inspection is a specific report for buyers. We do those too — mention you're purchasing when you book and we'll make sure you get the right report for your contract.
