Protection isn't forever — unless you maintain it
A chemical termite barrier creates a treated zone in the soil around your home that termites can't cross without being eliminated. It's the backbone of long-term termite protection — but it isn't a set-and-forget product. Termiticides deplete over the years, and everyday life punches holes in barriers: new paving, garden beds, plumbing work, extensions.
Reticulation systems — the network of underground pipes installed around many homes — make topping up the protection easy, but only if someone actually refills them. If you can't remember your last refill, or you've bought a home with no termite records, your barrier may be a line on an old invoice rather than real protection.
Did you know?
Everyday changes quietly break termite barriers: a new garden bed piled against the wall, a path laid over treated soil, a plumber's trench through the treated zone. A barrier is only as strong as its weakest disturbed metre.
Is your barrier still protecting you?
- Barrier older than its warranty
- Reticulation never refilled
- Renovations since installation
- New paving or garden beds
- No records from previous owner
- Plumbing work near the walls
- Termites found in the street
- Soil levels changed at walls

How barriers and reticulation work
Installed properly, documented properly, maintained on schedule — that's what long-term protection actually means.

Assess the existing protection
We check what's already there — barrier records, reticulation points, disturbed zones — and inspect for any current termite activity before touching anything.
Install or restore the treated zone
Trenching around the perimeter and applying a non-repellent termiticide, with drill-and-inject through paths and slab edges so the zone is continuous — no gaps, no free passes.
Reticulation installation and refills
For homes with reticulation, refills recharge the system without re-trenching. For homes without, we can install it — making every future top-up faster and cheaper.
Documentation and reminders
You get records of what was installed and when — and because barriers are only as good as their maintenance, we'll tell you exactly when the next service is due. Our termite barriers come with a 10-year guarantee.

Frequently asked questions
How long does a chemical barrier last?
It depends on the product used, soil type and how undisturbed the treated zone stays — barriers are installed with a stated protection period, and we document yours. What shortens the real-world lifespan is disturbance: renovations, landscaping and plumbing work through the treated soil.
I have reticulation pipes — what are they for?
They're a built-in delivery network for termiticide around your home's perimeter. Instead of re-trenching every time the protection needs renewing, we pump the treatment through the pipes — faster, cheaper and no digging. But they only protect you if they're actually refilled on schedule.
I just bought a house with no termite paperwork. What should I do?
Start with a termite inspection to establish there's no current activity, then assess what protection (if any) exists. Unknown protection is best treated as no protection — and we'll give you a clear, fixed-price path to getting genuinely covered.
Barrier or baiting system — which is better?
They solve different problems: barriers stop termites reaching the house, baiting intercepts and destroys colonies. The right choice depends on your construction, soil and risk profile — our inspection settles it with a recommendation and the reasoning, not a sales pitch.
